Salt Lake County Health Department issues release notice
SALT LAKE CITY (June 22, 2020) — Salt Lake County Health Department has released Governor Jon Huntsman from required isolation associated with his COVID-19 diagnosis.
Governor Huntsman tested positive for COVID-19 June 10 after having been given an incorrect negative result on June 8. Huntsman began his quarantine June 6 after receiving word that someone on the campaign staff had tested positive.
“This virus has been a grueling ordeal – from the botched test to the sickness itself,” said Governor Jon Huntsman. “While there are still some in my home who are sick and isolating, I’m feeling better and glad to be back on the campaign trail in the last week before the primary election. This is a critical election for our future and I urge all Republicans to mail in their ballots.”
Mary Kaye Huntsman tested positive June 18 and is in isolation currently. The Utah Republican Primary election is currently underway, ballots must be postmarked June 30.
