Utah Fraternal Order of Police Endorses Huntsman for Governor

SALT LAKE CITY (June 10, 2020)  — The 4,000 member Utah Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) has endorsed Jon Huntsman to be Utah’s next governor. The FOP’s president, Brent Jex, recognized Governor Huntsman’s “willingness to work (with the organization) in furthering the law enforcement profession.”

“This endorsement comes with a responsibility to lead as we work to build a stronger relationship between the public and those sworn to protect and to serve our communities,” said Governor Huntsman. “ I deeply appreciate the endorsement of the Fraternal Order of Police and I look forward to continuing to work with the members of this important organization to meet the challenges our state and communities face.”

Governor Huntsman has received an endorsement from a host of Utah leaders, including U.S. Senator Mike Lee, U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch, Representative Mia Love, and former gubernatorial candidate Jeff Burningham. Last week, he became the first Republican gubernatorial candidate to receive the endorsement of Equality Utah.

The closed Republican Party Primary is being conducted through a vote by mail system. Ballots have already been sent out and they must be returned by June 30. Those who still wish to receive a ballot can do so until June 19 at vote.utah.gov.
